On knowing your target audience.

The Beyonce media spree coupled with a couple of my friends opinions, piqued my interest in hearing the new album.
Granted, I'm not a Beyonce fan. I admire and respect and am often in awe of her work ethic and her talent, but i can't say that I have her music on personal rotation.

All that to say, I didn't have the energy {or drive space} to download it.
Opting rather to imeem it.

I play disc one, the "I Am..." disc, and immediately i get it. Disc 2 only solidifies my opinion.
No I don't like it, but like said above, my taste is a bit different.
BUT i see what shes doing and THAT i really am amazed by.

Be it natural progression or a well organized plot to super world domination, Team Beyonce, knows their market. The one they already rule {which is why she has disc 2... Sasha Fierce}, and the ones where she sees room to take over.
It's obvious whose spots she's gunning for.

why am I talking about all of this?
Cause I like to pause and analyze the industry a lot.
Cause I know that in this game there are many many ways to the top.
And that "the top" is relative.
Cause I know some songs and artists are manufactured.
And some are organic and homebred/fed.

At the heart of it all is knowing your audience.

I can feel a ramble coming on Re: how this game abducts personas, has eaten itself alive by celebrating marketablity over product {nothing too new there} and other odds and ends...
It's better that I get off the box now.
